Atiq has been in the legal profession since 2015. Prior to the law he had been working with the Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP) for some fifteen years. He also worked with various government & non-government agencies in Australia that include ATO, Citibank and ANZ bank.

Prior to joining Teddington, Atiq ran his own migration agency and was able to successfully execute several review petitions with AAT (MR & Gen Divisions) and won a case with AAT (MR div) in Jan 2017 overturning the delegate’s decision of a visa cancellation resulting in the client’s visa being reinstated. He has been successful gaining several visa grants for his clients within short span of time, and successfully instructed to the Supreme Court of NSW with a senior Barrister on a complex property law matter for his client.

Atiq obtained his Bachelor of Law (LLB) from Western Sydney University followed by a Post Graduate Dip in Legal Practice (GDLP) from Australian National University. He is an MBA graduate from the University of Adelaide and has completed a Bachelor of Applied Science (Hons).

He has general love of the law; following in the footsteps of his father who had been a successful lawyer.  Outside law, Atiq is well known within his community for his creative writings on local and legal issues that are regularly published in community newspapers. He has passion for gardening and environmental issues.
